Day 90: P90X Yoga X

Day 90. P90X yoga X. Ahhhhh. Day 90. Done! We did it. I will be posting my 90 day results pictures within the next day or 2. P90X is a great work out program. P90X changes everything. Changes the way you look at the food you eat. Changes the way you work out. Changes your attitude. Changes your body. Everything. I think everyone should put themselves through 90 days of P90X at least once a year. Stick to your regular work outs and then commit to 90 days of P90X when you have the time.

What are you waiting for? Start you own P90X journey today. Your body will thank you for it.

Day 85. P90X Yoga X.

Day 85. P90X Yoga X. Well we are down to the home stretch. 5 more work outs left. When I look back now to hard Yoga X was the first time I did it and now how manageable it is I will definitely have to add this to my routine. It works and stretches so many muscles. I really don't like it, but it works. What ever you do don't skip the yoga during your 90 days with P90X. You need it. You might not like it either but you have to do it.I know it's long but stick to the plan.

Day 81: P90X Yoga X

Day 81. P90X Yoga X. 9 more days and counting. I can't believe how much easier yoga is now then it was the first time I did it. First couple times I did it I hated it. Now I like it. It really gest your muscles loose after working them hard with the weights, push ups and pull ups. We are going to have to start thinking about what we are going to do when this 90 days of P90X is up. I think I might want to do a second round starting in September but I'm not sure yet. I know I want to get back on my weights and bench. I think I will always mix in P90X work outs with what ever I do in the future. Love these P90X work outs.

Day 74: P90X Yoga X

Day 74. P90X Yoga X. Every week Yoga X gets easier and easier so don't get discouraged if you can't flex as much as they do in the video or hold the poses as long as they do. Those poses are very difficult for someone who have never done yoga before. I couldn't hold those poses the first time I did yoga but now I can hold them all. Just do your best and over time you will get there. Tomorrow we are going to Biloxi, MS for a little weekend vacation and this is the first time we won't be doing the scheduled P90X work out. I'll be able to work out Friday morning and do legs and back/ab ripper but we will be in Biloxi come Saturday morning and I'm not quite sure what work out we will do. Kenpo is what we are supposed to do and it is pretty easy at this point so maybe we will get in some running, push ups etc. Sunday is a rest day and we get back Monday afternoon so we will have time to do Chest, Shoulders and Triceps/Ab Ripper.

Day 67: P90X Yoga X

Day 67. P90X Yoga X. It really is amazing how different yoga x is now then it was the first time I did it. For me I have noticed some great changes and it is helping me isolate some of the muscles in my right leg that have been lacking for awhile. I had back surgery about 6 years ago to remove a piece of disk that had broken off and was blocking my nerve. Talk about pain. Not the surgery but the pain from the disk blocking my nerve. I could barely get around and when I did I was usually limping. The muscle mass in my right leg was definitely different. It still is not 100% to this day and Yoga X is really helping with that. You are probably thinking, Wow, back surgery and you are doing P90X. For me P90X is helping strengthen my ab muscles as well as my back muscles. If you have back problems I would say everyone is different and there might be some moves throughout the course of P90X that you might not be comfortable with. Plough and shoulder stand in Yoga X are 2 moves you might want to go in carefully. Also the "Dreya roll" in P90X Core Synergistics is another one that might feel weird. If you have back problems I would say check with your doctor and they take extra caution with every move to see how it will affect you. I do everything with the highest intensity and feel there would have been more lost if I didn't do P90X. This has been the best work out I have ever done. You can start slow and work your way up. P90X works so many muscles so your over all fitness is going to be much better. Actually I think P90X works every muscle at one time or another.

Day 60: P90X Yoga X

Day 60. P90X Yoga X. Another day of Yoga. Still getting easier and easier every time we do it. Feels good to get that stretching in now. It is also day 60 so I will be posting some 60 day progress pictures either today or tomorrow. Not sure what kind of changes there will be but I do feel really good. Also did about a 3 mile run today.

Day 55. P90x Yoga X.

Day 55. P90x Yoga X. Yes, I did cheat yesterday. Had some great mexican food, a margarita and some beers. Emmmm. Was delicious. Nobodies perfect and I'm celebrating the 4th of July. Probably going to have a few more cold ones tonight too. Yoga is really not too bad anymore. Amazing what can happen in 8 weeks. I hated doing Yoga X the first few times but now it goes by pretty fast. You have to stick with it. Do not skip this work out. You need it. Four more weeks left to go. I will be taking some 60 day P90x photos in a few more days to track my progress.

Day 50: P90x Yoga X

Day 50: P90x Yoga X. Well I must say this work out goes bye faster and faster each time I do it. It's getting easier to handle. Poses are getting easier and I am getting more flexible. Started out a little tired considering we ran yesterday, then played baseball and pickle, then soccer. What rest day? Who needs rest? (kidding)

Day 46: P90x Yoga X

Day 46. P90x Yoga X. I am getting more flexible and I didn't hate this work out as much today. Actually kind of felt good. Poses are a little easier to hold. First time I did Yoga X it was really tough. Now it's hard but I can manage it. Do not skip this work out. It helps everything else. Like I said in earlier posts, there is a method to the madness. We also ran about 2 miles in 90 degree heat right after doing Yoga X. Talk about breaking a sweat. Next week we have to do Yoga X twice and I really think I will be pretty flexible and be able to hold all of the poses after next week. They might not be as pretty and perfect but I'll hold them.

Day 39: P90x Yoga X

Day 39. P90x Yoga X. A whole hour and a half of Yoga. Yaaaay. Still don't like it and my back was hurting today so I really didn't want to do it. I did it anyway and I think my back feels a little better now after yoga x. All the stretching worked out a couple kinks I think. Yoga X really isn't that bad. I just think since it is something new to me and difficult that is the reason I don't like it. The balance poses are tough but they really make you use your muscles in a whole new way.

Day 32: P90x Yoga X and the names of the poses in P90 X Yoga X.

Day 32. P90x Yoga X. Another day of Yoga and I still don't like it. Too long and i'm not flexible. It is getting easier though. I can pretty much hold all of the poses now but I am still working on the flexibility thing. I had a question from someone the other day. They wanted to know the name of all the poses in the P90x Yoga X work out, so I will post the poses and exercises here so you can see what the are. We do Astanga Sun Salutations (Vinyasas), Chaturanga, Downward Dog, Upward Dog, Runner's Pose, Crescent Pose, Warrior One, Warrior Two, Warrior Three, Reverse Warrior, Triangle Pose, Twisting Triangle, Prayer Twist, Right-Angle Pose, Half Moon, Twisting Half Moon, Tree, Royal Dancer, Standing Leg Extension, Crane (better use your pillow), Seated Spinal Stretch, Cat Stretch, Frog, Bridge (Wheel), Plough, Table, Cobbler Pose, Touch the Sky, Boat, Half Boat, Torso Twist Hold, Side Twist, Deep Torso Twist Hold, Side Twist, Glute Strech, Happy Baby, Child's Pose, Shavasana (Corpse Pose), Fetal Pose and the Meditation Pose (Lotus). Yes, you do all of these in about and hour and a half on Yoga X day. Yes, they are hard but get easier as the weeks progress. Well, for the of you who wanted to know the names of the poses in P90x Yoga X I hope this helps. There are also a few other stretches but as far as the Yoga X poses, this is all of them.

Day 27: P90x Yoga x

Day 27 P90x Yoga X. Yoga is getting easier and I am getting more flexible. I am curious to see just how flexible I will be at the end of the 90 days. Well, week 5 coming up on monday. Diet changes and the workouts change.

Day 22: P90x Yoga X

Today was a fun filled day of P90x Yoga X. This is week four and the routine changes for this week. 2 days of Yoga X, some core work, Stretch X and Kenpo X. I still do not like Yoga and I'm not too thrilled that I have to do it twice this week but all well. I'm sticking to the program. Nutrition plan also changes a little bit next week. Get to add a couple extra carbs. Maybe that means a few more beers. NOT. Well I just took a quick measurement and I lost about 3% body fat so far and about 5 lbs. I need to get my weight back up and get the body fat even lower. Not sure what to shoot for maybe 12-14%. I'm at 20% down from 23% so I still have long way to go. The challenge is going to be keeping my weight up.

Day 18: P90x Yoga X

Well it's confirmed for sure. I'm now flexible nor can I keep my balance very well. I'm not sure I like P90x Yoga X at all but Im sure a lot of people say the same thing. I guess it probably doesn't help that I stayed out and watched the Red Wings beat the Blackhawks and advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. Just in case you were wondering, YES, I did cheat and had some beers. Emmm. Nice and cold. If you are new to yoga, and I am, then it will be difficult. I don't think it's normal to stand on one leg then stick the other one straight out while you grab your toes. It's hard enough standing on one leg. I can say one thing for sure. P90x Yoga will make you sweat and shake. Trying to hold these poses is very difficult. I can't even do them all the way and they are still hard. Next week for me is week 4 and I have to do Yoga X twice that week. As of now I can tell you that I am not looking forward to it.

Tony doesn't have you do all of these poses but you do enough. I can't believe some people do Yoga 4 and 5 times a week. Amazing. The flexibilty is incredible. You are definitely engaging muscle fibers in a whole new way as well as getting some good stretching. Maybe instead of resting on rest day I will do the Stretch X workout. Might help with the Yoga.

Day 11: P90x Yoga X

Today was day 11 of P90x. Yoga X. I can't decide if I like this workout or not yet. It is definitely different for me since I have never done yoga before. Downward doggie style, cat like reflexes in a shell, forward ninja, backward clown. Well, those aren't the exact names but you get the idea. These are all poses in yoga x. I wonder how some of this stuff can be done by a human being. BUT. It feels really good when you are done. A lot of good stretching. Stuff you would never do on your own. Also you get some good core work. Like I said before, I'm sure there is a method to the madness. I'm sure there is a reason for the order these workouts are in and why yoga x is placed where it is in the rotation.

Nutrition plan is fairly simple now and I could care less if I get any of the junk I was eating. I grill about 6-7 chicken breasts on sunday and eat them through out the week. I have been eating egg whites for breakfast and a Shakeology shake. Then tuna, chicken salad or chicken breast for lunch. A protein shake, some veggies a banana and maybe a yogurt. Dinner could be fish and veggies with some wheat pasta and then another protein shake. If I'm still hungry I'll eat a P90x Chocolate Penut Butter protein bar. Really good.

This is where I would really like to be doing Yoga X.

Day4: P90x Yoga X

This was the first time in my life that I ever done any form of yoga and there are no words to describe it. The stretching was great and the timing of it was perfect since I am still sore but there are definitely poses that were hard for me to hold. There were also some poses that I could not hold. I can see now that I need to work on my flexibility. Even though the other days made me sore I think this was the toughest workout so far. Maybe I feel that way since yoga is new to me. It's amazing to me how flexible the people in this workout are. I'm sure I'll get there with some work. Thats one of the great things about P90x. There is always a modified move so you can build up to the advanced moves. Tony Horton is hilarious in the Yoga X workout. He had me laughing a couple of times that I almost had to stop for a second.

Well I passed on eating anything this morning since my banana was no longer on the counter. I think a gorilla stole it. Well maybe my honey stole it. Thats ok, I still love her anyway. She's in her third week of
P90x and she is "Bringing It" too and as you can see she's no gorilla. Tomorrow I will do the same and eat after my workout. Everyone is different so you will have to figure out what works for you. Still no cravings and I still feel like I am eating a ton. I lost 3 lbs i 4 days and I do not want to lose any weight so I might have to add 400 - 500 more calories. My Detroit Red Wings just advanced to the western conference finals so I know that a 12 pack of beer and Lafayette Coney Island is going to be inevitable but maybe I'll be able to hold off to the finals.(nahhh)

One thing is for sure. This is a great program and I am very glad I started it. The Beachbody community is huge and the message boards are very helpful if you have questions. I can't believe how many people are out there who have done this program and continue on to P90x + when they are done. If you don't think your ready for P90x just yet there is always Power 90 to get you going. Beachbody has a program for everyone. From Project you type 2 to P90x to the New Extreme workout program by Shaun T coming out called Insanity, there is something for everyone. Even the kids.
