Atlanta Braves' Matt Diaz has done P90X

Read on about Matt Diaz and his offseason weight loss.

Matt Diaz lost 30 pounds this offseason.

Q. How did you lose 30 pounds this offseason?

A. I hate to admit it, but I did an infomercial. … My wife ordered P90X. I saw her doing her leg workout, and it was similar to stuff I did in rehab. I thought that’d be a good way to ease my way back into weightlifting. After a week you realize there’s no easing into that workout.

Q. You watch videos as you work out?

A. They send you 12 videos with 12 different workouts and a diet plan. If you want it, it gives you recipes for every meal, six meals a day …. We moved our kids upstairs out of the nursery and changed the nursery into a P90X room. We got a pull-up bar and dumbbells. … I’d do a P90X workout with my wife in the morning, a baseball workout in the afternoon and go jogging with my wife in the evening while dinner was crock-potting.

I’m sure, as word gets out I will be sharing more stories about celebrities who live the Beachbody lifestyle and are getting incredible results with fitness programs like P90X.

John "Spider" Salley is doing P90X

4-time NBA champion John "Spider" Salley is joining the ranks of many athletes and celebrities that are doing P90X. It is nice to see one of the pistons' "Bad Boys" bringing it with P90X. Salley said if he had to do it over he would shoot a thousands shots a day like Kobe, work on his cardio and do P90X. Now this man has 4 world championship rings 2 with the Deeeetoit Pistons, 1 with the Lakers and 1 with the Bulls where he played with the greatest ever, Michael Jordan. For Salley to say he would have incorporated P90X into his basketball work outs is a very bold statement.
By the way John got his nick name "Spider" by being afraid of the little buggers. Come on John, your 6 ft 11 in. Funny. Your still the man.

Salley is right about 1 thing though, P90X would have been great for him. If he would have been doing P90X Legs and Back and P90X Plyometrics the results of these 2 dunk attempts against the Bulls would have been much different.

Obama on P90X.

So I came across this picture on the net and I had to get in touch with some of my Secret Service buddies to find out what Barack Obama was thinking at the moment this picture was taken. To my surprise Obama was reported as saying " Is that a P90X Nutrition Guide in her hand?" Standing next to Obama was the President of France and he was reported as saying "The only way to get a gluteus maximus like that is by doing P90X and following the nutrition plan." Of course Sarkozy made this statement in French so it sounded real good. Amazing, even the French know about P90X. Maybe Barack will make P90X part of his new health care initiative? After the picture, Obama and Sarkozy were reported to have placed a friendly wager on whether the girl in question was in Phase 1, Phase 2 or Phase 3 of P90X. Barack took the middle of the road and went with Phase 2. Sarkozy went with Phase 1 since he wasn't sure and didn't want to offend anybody.(Go figure) Winner, Barack Obama. We don't know what the wager was but let's just say I heard we will get to keep the Statue of Liberty. Sarkozy claims that Barack had a better view so he was not able to make a good guess of which phase the young lady was in.

Mix politics with p90X and everyone wins.

Ravens' Ray Lewis did P90X

Ray Lewis talks about his new fitness routine.

For Lewis, who recently expressed disappointment that the Pro Bowl won’t be in Hawaii next year, the game is “always special.” He loves everything about spending a week in the islands with family and friends. He especially loves being part of an ultra-elite group of players.

“When you find yourself over here, you always greatly appreciate it because it’s (an indication) of people really watching you saying, ‘Wow! He’s still there and still doing great things,’” Lewis said. “So it’s always a great honor.”

Lewis, 33, and Gonzalez, who turns 33 later this month, take exceptionally good care of themselves. They also know they’ve been fortunate to be healthy enough at the end of each season to play in the Pro Bowl. In most cases, players who don’t participate usually are recovering from an injury.

Lewis, who played a vital role in helping the Ravens reach the AFC Championship Game, said he has never felt better physically in 13 NFL seasons. He largely credits that to changing his approach to physical conditioning during every offseason. Lewis’ theory: If you do the same thing, you’ll get the same results.

Lewis’ newest routine includes a program called P90X, which operates on the principle of “muscle confusion.” The concept is to constantly introduce the body to new movements and exercises so it won’t plateau.

“I just incorporated it in a lot of different places in my workouts, and it’s given me the challenge that I needed,” Lewis said. “Greatness is not just one big thing — it’s a lot of small things done well. So whether it’s Tony working out the way he’s always worked out or he’s catching a number of passes he catches each day, or whether it’s me sitting down for film study for hours and hours and hours, whether it’s the crazy workouts, these are the things you can look back on in your career (as reasons for individual success).”

Another celebrity has discovered the power of the "X." From David Akers, kicker for the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles, to Jason Scheff, one of our very own Coaches and lead singer of Chicago, to rocker Sheryl Crow, this program is hotter than ever. Could it be P90X's popularity is growing throughout the high-profile sports and entertainment industries? All we can say to that is, Bring It! This is such a great program that high profile stars promote it without being asked to. The proof is in the pudding. Put out a great product and it will promote itself
